Family Day event offers fun activities and demonstrations

The Town of Orangeville will host the popular Family Day event on Monday, February 18, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Alder Recreation Centre, 275 Alder Street. The event will feature free skating, swimming and activities, including face painting for the youngsters from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Complimentary 50-minute family skating will be offered, starting every half hour from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The family skate periods are sponsored by RBC and the Town.

Two free one-hour swims will be offered at 12:15 and 2:15 p.m.

Activities will include fitness demonstrations in the Saputo Health & Wellness Centre, with Pound demo from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., family Zumba from 12-12:30 p.m., and another Pound demo from 12:30-1 p.m. Try-it open basketball and pickleball will take place in the Saputo Centre from 1-3 p.m.

Face painting for the kids and children’s crafts will be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the recreation centre lobby. Participate in a Family Day mural decoration as part of the day’s activities.

The Alder branch of the Orangeville Public Library promises some entertainment for Family Day – costume characters will be making a special appearance from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Colouring  at the library be offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
