In the Town of Orangeville, we are committed to protecting the general public in order to ensure Orangeville remains a pleasant community to live in and visit. We do this through the establishment and enforcement of a variety of municipal by-laws.

By-law Complaints: 

Please provide the following information:

  • Details and location of the particular violation

We will not investigate anonymous complaints, unless the alleged complaint relates to an immediate life safety issue.

Noise Complaints:

The Town regulates noises which disturb, or are likely to disturb inhabitants.

The first step in the noise reporting process is to complete and submit the Noise Reporting Witness Form and Noise Report Record Form. Once the completed documents have been received By-law staff will complete a review and notify you as to whether or not a Notice of Violation will be issued.

The Town strives to ensure the identity of a complainant remains confidential. Most complaints are resolved through voluntary compliance by way of education and public awareness, however, should the matter proceed by way of prosecution, the Town cannot protect the identity of a complainant. Such information could be released through the following:

  • evidence disclosure
  • witness testimony
  • officer evidence
