Orangeville Fire works to make sure that the environment is safe for everyone. We keep a registry of all locations that are considered Standing Sensitivity Receptors in the Town of Orangeville Outdoor Fire Bylaw. This includes:

  • health care facilities
  • seniors' residences
  • long-term care facilities

Application

If you have a sensitivity to fire or smoke, you can apply to be added to the Sensitive Receptor Registry. You will need to renew your application every year in January to stay on the registry.

Individuals applying for the Sensitive Receptor Registry must provide a medical note from their doctor confirming they have a medical condition that qualifies them for the registry. This note is required only at the time of the initial application. This will be added as an attachment, through the application link below.

Once the application is approved, the individual must renew their registration each calendar year, but a doctor's note is not required for subsequent renewals.

No burn permits will be issued to properties within 45 metres of those on the registry. If a burn permit has already been issued in the area, it will be revoked.
