Corporation structure

The Town of Orangeville is governed by Council along with support staff that oversee community services, corporate services and infrastructure services.

Chief Administrative Officer

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is the head of the Town's administrative structure by providing leadership and direction. The CAO is responsible for the co-ordination of information with all departments while ensuring the direction and priorities of Council are implemented and aligned with the Strategic Action Plan – Orangeville Forward.

Orangeville Public Library

The Orangeville Public Library is governed and run by the Library Board. They are responsible for the library collection, programs and research.

Economic Development and Culture

The Economic Development and Culture Division oversees economic development and the creation of supports, programs and incentives for businesses. We also promote and develop the tourism industry as a strong branch of our local economy.

Facilities and Parks

The Recreation and Events Division develops recreational programs and hosts a variety of public events throughout the year that promote community engagement and recreational activities.

Orangeville Fire

Orangeville Fire works to keep our community safe through emergency response, fire prevention and a variety of fire safety and educational programs.

Finance

The Finance Division is responsible for all financial matters, including setting the annual municipal budget, financial reporting, property taxes, asset management, procurement, accounts receivable, accounts payable and insurance for the Town of Orangeville.

Clerks

The Town Clerk’s Office primary services include managing the decision-making process by supporting Council and committee meetings, making information accessible to the public while protecting privacy, processing licences, enforcing by-laws and administering the municipal election.

Information Technology (IT)

The IT Division provides support and manages all aspects of the information technology infrastructure and advances IT initiatives. This includes the development of the Data Orangeville resource which includes interactive maps and data management.

Human Resources

Human Resources provides support to a diverse workforce including management. Their strategic function is comprised of legislative compliance, organizational effectiveness, talent and people management, health and safety, policy development, compensation, benefits, training, development, job postings and recruitment to ensure our organization meets the needs of our labour force.

Communications

The Communications Division works to keep our residents informed and engaged via online resources, print ads and brochures, videos and photos, and of course the municipal website. Infrastructure Services

Capital Works

The Town of Orangeville’s Capital Works Division manages the planning, design, construction and re-habilitation of the Town’s water, wastewater and road network Infrastructural needs in harmony with the Asset Management Plan.

Transportation and Development

The Transportation and Development Division conducts engineering reviews of new development applications, oversees the renewal and long-term planning for the Town's roads and manages the operation of Orangeville Transit.

Planning

The Planning Division reviews all new development and planning applications in the Town of Orangeville, including Official Plan amendments, Zoning By-law amendments, plans of subdivision, site plans, minor variances and heritage planning.

Building

The Building Division issues building permits and conducts inspections to ensure that all demolition projects comply with the Ontario Building Code.

Public Works

The Public Works Division oversees the day-to-day operation and maintenance of roads, the water supply and distribution system and sewage collection and treatment.
