The Sign By-law regulates the placement, size and appearance of signs in the Town of Orangeville. You need a sign permit for the following types of signs:

  • permanent (ground signs, wall signs and land development signs)
  • portable
  • awnings and marquees that overhang the street

We will review your application to ensure that it meets the regulations in the Sign By-law.

Application details

Along with your application, you will need to submit two sketches that include:

  • the dimensions of the proposed sign
  • the location of the sign on the building or structure
  • the location of the sign on the property in relation to other structures, streets and setbacks
  • information about the sign mounting including the support framework and the attachments to the building

Signs in a Heritage Conservation District

If a proposed sign will be located in the Downtown Heritage Conservation District, you must comply with the regulations and guidelines set out for the heritage district.
