Nominations open for 2017 Municipal Senior & Youth of the Year
The Town of Orangeville has opened nominations for the 2017 Municipal Senior and Youth of the Year awards. On an annual basis, Orangeville Council recognizes and honours an outstanding senior and youth who have enriched the social, cultural or civic life of the community. The 2017 Municipal Senior and Youth of the Year awards will be presented at the November 27 Council meeting.
Nominations are open to Orangeville senior residents 55 years of age or older and Orangeville youth residents between the ages of 14 and 21. Nominees must have made a significant contribution in one or more of the following categories: Volunteerism, Arts & Literature, Community Service, Education, Preservation of History, Fitness/Recreation/Sports, Humanitarian Activities, and Environment/Science.
Any agency, organization, community group or individual may nominate an individual in one or more of the appropriate categories. The nominee’s listed contributions need not be limited to a specific year. Recipients of the award cannot be nominated again.
Nomination forms are available on the Town’s website or at the Information Desk at Town Hall. Nominations for the Municipal Senior and Youth of the Year Award can be mailed, hand delivered, faxed, emailed or submitted online until Friday, October 20, 2017.
