Winter overnight parking permitted in two municipal lots

Nov 15, 2019 | Public Works | General | Public Notice

The Town of Orangeville is offering overflow winter parking at two municipal parks.

To provide residents with an option due to Town-wide overnight on-street parking restrictions, the Town offers spaces at Rotary Park and Fendley Park between December 1, 2019 and March 31, 2020.

The entire parking lot at Fendley Park will be available for overflow winter parking while part of the Rotary Park parking lot will be free for parking. Signs have been erected to inform users what portion of the parking lot to use on which night, allowing the other part to be plowed and sanded.

The Town’s Traffic By-law prohibits overnight winter parking on municipal property. The by-law prohibits on-street parking and parking in municipal parking lots from 2-7 a.m. from December 1 to March 31 to permit winter control activities, except for the above-noted permitted use. Violations can result in having a vehicle ticketed or towed.

Residents are also reminded that it is an offence under Town of Orangeville by-laws to park on a sidewalk.
