October update to July news release:

The reconstruction of Faulkner Street, from Broadway to Elizabeth Street, will be deferred until the spring of 2020 due to the lateness of the season. Arrangements have been made by the Town to remove all signs, construction equipment, and materials from the street given that the project has been rescheduled.

July news release:

The Town of Orangeville has awarded a contract for road construction on Faulkner and Gifford Streets to FCM Construction of Oakville.

The reconstruction of Faulkner Street (from Elizabeth Street to Broadway) is set to start Monday, July 29. This work is to be completed over the next six to eight weeks, with the final top coat of asphalt to be applied in the summer of 2020. The project includes the reconstruction of sanitary, storm and watermains as well as the road, concrete curbs and sidewalks. Faulkner Street and portions of Zina Street will be affected by the construction and will be open to local traffic only. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes during the construction period.

Construction on Gifford Street is expected to start mid-August. Residents on the street affected by the construction will be permitted to park in the seniors centre parking lot. Pedestrian access for those residents living on Gifford Street will be maintained during the construction phase from the seniors centre parking lot area. This project is expected to be completed over a six to eight week period.
