Pomax Consulting Inc. will present a report on the provision of policing services to Orangeville Council on October 28 in Town Hall at 87 Broadway at 7 p.m.

Originally scheduled for October 21, the consultant’s report on the OPP costing review was rescheduled to October 22 due to the federal election. However, October 22 is now scheduled as a regular meeting of Orangeville Council, with the consultant’s meeting set for October 28. Council will hear public comments with respect to policing at the November 4 meeting.

The shift in timing will ensure the report is released in accordance with the Town’s regular practice in advance of the Council meeting.

On December 10, 2018, Council passed a resolution requesting the OPP prepare a costing proposal for the provision of policing services for the Town of Orangeville. On April 29, 2019, the OPP Billing Model was presented to Council. The Town is still expected to make a decision no later than December 10, 2019.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Council Chambers in Orangeville Town Hall at 87 Broadway. Council meetings are broadcast live on YouTube, on the Orangeville Council channel, and the meetings air on Rogers TV Cable 63 on the following Wednesdays at 2 p.m. Updated information is available on the Town’s website.
