The Town of Orangeville has retained Pomax Consulting Inc. as the police costing consultant for the review of the Orangeville Police Service (OPS) and Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). This follows an amicable parting of the ways with the original consultant who is supporting the transition.

Pomax Consulting has reviewed the terms and conditions of the Request For Proposal and scope of work, and has validated that their understanding is aligned to the full expectations of the Town. This includes a full detailed review of the budget impact related to OPS and to compare with the OPP billing model during both the initial municipal policing transition and following the initial phase as per the RFP.

The Town expects to be able to maintain the original schedule for the Orangeville Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police costing review and decision. Orangeville is expected to make a decision by December 10, 2019.

The initiative was part of a competitive procurement where vendors competed based on both price and technical scoring. Pomax Consulting Inc. was the second highest scoring proponent. The new contract is valued at $49,650. This amount combined with the $10,000 deposit paid to the first consultant keeps the project within the original estimated cost with no new funding required.
