Today, the Town of Orangeville is announcing a number of municipal closures that will take effect as of 6 p.m. on March 14. All recreation facilities and libraries will be closed. In addition, all Council and Committee meetings, public consultations and public gatherings will also be closed until April 6. The Town will also close the Orangeville Town Hall Opera House and the Orangeville & District Senior Citizens Centre.



Currently other Town facilities will remain open but visitors will be asked to self-screen before entering the building. The Town encourages residents and businesses to interact with the Town online instead of in-person, as much as possible. Members of the public who are not feeling well and are exhibiting symptoms such as cough, fever and respiratory illness are asked not to visit municipal facilities and to stay at home and contact Telehealth or their family physician.



“We recognize the risk remains low, but out of an abundance of caution, we have made the difficult decision to cancel public programs and meetings until April 6,” said Mayor Sandy Brown. “We regret the inconvenience this will cause but at this time we believe this is the best course of action based on information available from the federal and provincial governments, as well our local Public Health unit.”
