In order to minimize the spread of COVID-19, the Town is posting signage at all parks warning residents to keep their children off all play equipment/play structures. This equipment is not sanitized, presenting a risk to those using the equipment to contract or spread the virus.

Parks will remain open, and residents are welcome to make use of the open space while maintaining social distancing and keeping up with handwashing/sanitizing after contact with any type of park equipment, such as benches, crosswalk signals, etc.

“With March break, school closures and many of you being off work, lots of people are looking to go outside and get some exercise and fresh air,” said Mayor Sandy Brown. “I encourage you to take advantage of opportunities to unplug and get away from the stress of the current situation. At the same time, I want to remind everyone of the importance of maintaining the recommended social distancing and keeping up with your handwashing/sanitizing. These closures are not in any way meant to discourage people from using parks or enjoying the outdoors, but just to remind you that these are extraordinary times requiring extraordinary precautions.”
