Notice of complete application and public meeting for an Official Plan and Zoning bylaw amendment (file number OPZ-2025-02)
The Town of Orangeville has received a complete application to amend the Official Plan and Zoning By-law (No. 22-90, as amended), pursuant to Sections 22 and 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990 and will hold a public meeting on:
- Monday June 23rd, 2025, at 7 p.m.
- Town Hall council chambers (87 Broadway)
Lands subject to this application: The application is for a large vacant property known municipally as 54-60 Third Street. The property is approximately 3.7 hectares (9.2 acres) in area located on the southeast corner of Fourth Avenue and Third Street.
Purpose and effect of the application: To facilitate a seniors-oriented development featuring a four-storey apartment building with 76 units and 100 townhouse units. The development will have private amenities such as dining, personal services and fitness facilities. The development will include 231 surface parking spaces with an internal private road. Site access will be located on Third Street and Fourth Avenue.
Official Plan amendment request: To redesignate the property from General Commercial to Residential with a Specific Area Policy.
Zoning bylaw amendment request: To rezone the property from General Commercial (C1) Zone to Multiple Residential Medium Density (RM1) Zone, with site-specific Special Provisions and Holding (H) symbol.
