Small Business Centres Ontario (SBC Ontario) is pleased to announce the launch of their new website www.sbcontario.ca which serves as a hub for 54 existing Small Business & Entrepreneurship Centres (SBECs). Library opens to public at the Mill Street Library

The Mill Street Library will open its doors on Monday, March 1 so the public can browse the collection and use public computers from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

Patrons are required to wear a mask and complete a screening with a greeter. Library capacity will be limited to 25 individuals at a time with a maximum visit of 45 minutes daily. Regular cleaning of high touch surfaces will occur throughout the day.

Orangeville minor ice user groups fees review – At its meeting on February 8, 2021, Council had deferred a report by staff regarding a request by the Orangeville Minor Hockey Association (OMHA), the Orangeville Girls Hockey Association (OGHA) and Skate Canada Orangeville for a 50 percent reduction in ice permit fees from December 14, 2020 to the end of the 2020/2021 ice season. Orangeville minor ice user groups fees review – At its meeting on January 11, 2021, Council had requested that staff prepare a report regarding a request for a 50 percent reduction in ice permit fees by the Orangeville Minor Hockey Association (OMHA), the Orangeville Girls Hockey Association (OGHA) and Skate Canada Orangeville from December 14, 2020 to the end of the 2020/2021 ice season. Outdoor ice rinks are open for use with restrictions

The Town constructs and maintains several outdoor ice rinks. Regular updates are provided on the Town’s website indicating which outdoor ice rinks are open. When a rink is closed, the public is asked to stay off the ice. For those that are open, please enjoy this winter activity and be sure to follow protocols. Keep in mind that rink operations are weather dependent and are also affected by snow accumulation and dependent upon people following the municipal regulations and COVID-19 protocols.

Default speed limit in Orangeville changes to 40 kph

Orangeville motorists are being asked to slow down. The speed limit on most municipal streets will be 40 kilometres per hour, effective March 1, 2021.

Orangeville Council voted on January 25, 2021 to amend the Traffic By-law, revising all 50 kph roadways to 40 kph. Excluded streets will include major town roads: Hansen Boulevard, First Street, Town Line, C Line, Riddell Road, Centennial Road and Broadway.
