Summer Construction Continues in Orangeville

As part of our commitment to having safe and well-maintained roads and infrastructure in Orangeville, the Town continues to execute its Annual Maintenance Program. During this time, residents can expect to see construction vehicles, coned off areas and workers on-site rehabilitating road surface, curbs and maintenance holes.

Town of Orangeville Remembers Former Chief Administration Officer, Rick Schwarzer

Rick Schwarzer, the former Chief Administration Officer (CAO) at the Town of Orangeville passed away on August 4, 2022. Rick was the CAO for more than 20 years prior to retiring in 2015. Rick started with the Town of Orangeville in 1990 as Director of Planning, before moving into the role of CAO which he held from 1995 – 2015.

Town reintroduces some COVID preventative measures

The Town of Orangeville is bringing back some of the COVID preventative measures that were in effect for previous pandemic waves. With growing case numbers generally and some cases amongst staff, members of the Town’s Emergency Operations Centre made the decision Friday to reintroduce some preventative measures in the interest of everyone’s health and safety, effective July 26, 2022.

Region of Peel acquires the Orangeville-Brampton Railway Corridor

Brampton, ON. (July 15, 2022) – The Region of Peel, City of Brampton, Town of Caledon and City of Mississauga have finalized the acquisition of approximately 51 km of the former Orangeville-Brampton Railway corridor which runs from the Caledon-Orangeville boundary to just north of Streetsville.

Orangeville has won the SiriusXM Music Town contest for Ontario! For achieving the top spot, the Town will host a concert featuring Walk off the Earth this fall funded by SiriusXM and Live Nation Canada. Broadway Bricks project gears up for summer start

The Town of Orangeville is about to embark on a sidewalk renewal program in the downtown core.

 The initial phase of the “Broadway Bricks” project will commence July 18 and involve the temporary removal of trees from the sidewalks (except those near restaurant patios) and decommissioning some unused underground water services.

The Town of Orangeville is participating in the 28th edition of Communities in Bloom (CiB), in the Circle of Excellence Evaluated (non-competitive) category for 2022.

A piece of public art has been installed as a tribute to the Orangeville Northmen Lacrosse Association. On display at the corner of Alder Street and Riddell Road, the artwork honours the history of lacrosse in Orangeville and recognizes the efforts of the Orangeville Northmen in developing the sport locally.
