Orangeville is waiting to be discovered by visitors of all ages. Many fun and affordable activities offer opportunities for families to connect while enjoying year-round entertainment.

All-season adventure at Island Lake Conservation Area

Island Lake Conservation Area offers outdoor adventures for everyone in the family. The natural retreat features 330 hectares of lake, wetland, forest and meadow. A morning spent at Island Lake is a sure way to enjoy a dose of fresh air while engaging with nature and each other.

Accessible, well-maintained trails welcome hikers and cyclists of all ages and abilities. Explore the Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail, climb and play at the natural playground, or read along the Tales on the Trail storybook walk.

In the summer, spend some time on the water canoeing, kayaking or fishing. Snowshoeing and ice fishing are popular winter activities.

Break for lunch

Worked up an appetite? Many of our restaurants and cafés cater to families. From kids' menus to three-course delights, you'll find something to satisfy that rumbling tummy.

Get creative

You can foster your family's artistic talent with a visit to Maggiolly Art Supplies, Ricky Schaede Art Studio, or Art with Jada. Each space offers classes, supplies, and inspiration. Get your hands dirty while making a treasured keepsake at Pottery Parties Studio. If you prefer to appreciate rather than create, head to Dragonfly Arts on Broadway to see artists at work in their studios or get inspired by books as you search the stacks at Readers' Choice, BookLore or the Orangeville Public Libraries.

Go on a search

On the hunt for treasure? More than 70 pieces of public art are scattered throughout Orangeville, ready to be discovered. The collection includes over 40 tree sculptures that depict the Town's people, stories and history while preserving local trees. Follow a self-guided tour to find your favourite piece or discover a literary adventure at Island Lake. With both options, you'll have a chance to explore our community while spending time together.

Burn some energy

Who says you need to be outside to be active? Whether you book a tee time for the golf simulators at The Golf House or The Virtual Green, aim for a strike at Bowling on Broadway, or test your aim at Far Shot Recreation, you will find lively indoor fun in Orangeville. Little ones with unbounded energy can stop by Recess Play, enjoy a sensory space at Inclusive Perspectives, or participate in Town of Orangeville’s drop-in activities.

For those who prefer to roll, the skateboard and BMX parks offer an outlet for all the tricks, twists and turns you can muster. There are over 35 parks located throughout Orangeville, each one with its own features, including splash pads at Harvey Curry Park and Fendley Park.

Discover downtown

In the mood to wander? Take a stroll through our charming downtown. Explore historic streetscapes and public art with self-guided walking tours. Browse our unique selection of shops and tempt your tastebuds at our cafes, bakeries and restaurants.

With so many activities, there is no shortage of ways to keep everyone in the family entertained and energized during your stay in Orangeville.
