100% Certainty Book Club
Do you like to talk about books you have just read? Meet like-minded adults and have great conversations by joining the 100% Certainty Book Club. Launched in partnership with Hospice Dufferin, the new book club is a community initiative to spark dialogue and increase awareness about death and dying. Staff from both the Orangeville Public Library and Hospice Dufferin will facilitate the meetings. The goal is to have compassionate conversations about an experience that everyone must ultimately face.
There will be four meetings in 2019, two in the spring and two in the fall, with separate registration for each session. The first meeting, featuring "When Breath Becomes Air" by Paul Kalanithi, will be held on Thursday, May 2 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Mill Street Library. Registration is available online or by dropping into either library location until April 4.
The second meeting featuring “Tuesdays with Morrie” by Mitch Albom, will be held on Thursday, June 6. Registration for this session opens April 4 and closes May 2. The two remaining titles will be announced at a later date.
Copies of each book will be available for checkout from the library or by digital download. Individuals living outside the library’s catchment area are also welcome to join the book club.
The 100% Certainty Project was developed by the Division of Palliative Care at McMaster University in partnership with Hamilton Public Library and Hamilton region Hospice organizations.
