Mayor of Orangeville to address disparity in rural eligibility for the Canada Carbon Rebate

The Town of Orangeville’s Mayor will appeal to the Federal Government to change the criteria for determining how much residents in certain areas can receive on their Canada Carbon Rebate.

Mayor Lisa Post put forward a motion at the March 18 meeting of Orangeville Council regarding the matter, addressing the eligibility for the small/rural community supplement. Currently, this CCR supplement sits at 10 per cent, and will rise to 20 per cent in April of this year.

Town of Orangeville Offices

All Town offices, including Town Hall, will be closed on Friday, March 29 and Monday, April 1.

Offices are closed on weekends.

New Service Line Emergency Repair Plans Available to Orangeville Homeowners

March 11th, 2024 – Homeowners in Orangeville now have access to optional service plans for water and sewer service lines on their property. A new, voluntary program is available through Service Line Warranties of Canada (SLWC) for residents who do not have similar coverage that may be available through their home insurance provider.

The Town of Orangeville’s flags will fly at half-mast in recognition of the passing of former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, who died at the age of 84 on February 29.

The Right Honourable Brian Mulroney, who served as Canada’s 18th Prime Minister, died peacefully and surrounded by family, daughter Caroline Mulroney noted in a social post on Thursday.
