Fire safety education is presented to thousands of Orangeville and area residents.
The Orangeville Fire Department conducts fire safety seminars at all area schools and conducts public education displays and seminars for children's groups, seniors and other private groups throughout the year.
Most fires and injuries are preventable. Public fire and life safety education programs are a way for the fire service to reach into the community and encourage positive change. Working together, the fire service and the community can reduce the loss of life and property from fire.
Fire prevention offers a variety of fire and life safety programs for different groups, agencies and community interest groups throughout the Orangeville area as well as conducting public education displays at community events. Fire Prevention Week is the second week of October. Fire department representatives attend various public education events during this week. The department also hosts an annual open house.
