Canada Day -- Paint the Town Red, enjoy a virtual celebration

July 1, 2020 | Recreation and Events | Holidays

Celebrate Canada Day 2020 by uniting the country virtually and celebrating everything Canadian! In Orangeville, let’s Paint the Town Red!

Paint the Town red, decorate porches

Join in the festivities by hanging Canadian flags and decorating your homes in red and white to demonstrate your Canadian pride. Gather the family for a porch party and get ready to celebrate two metres from your neighbours. Town Hall, the Orangeville Public Library, and the Broadway medians will be illuminated with red flood lights to mark the occasion. Canadian banners will line downtown Broadway, and a huge flag will be displayed at the Alder Recreation Centre.

Televised shows

Canadian Heritage will host two nation-wide televised shows on CBC with professional artistic and musical performances on Canada Day at 1 and 8 p.m. For list of performers and details, visit https://www.canada.ca/en/canadian-heritage/news/2020/06/canada-day-2020-celebration-plans-unveiled.html.
