Community Art Mosaic

To celebrate Canada Day,  Orangeville residents are invited to participate in the creation of a legacy art project. The Town has commissioned Mural Mosaic, an Edmonton-based arts group, to design a mosaic mural showcasing the historic charm of Orangeville.

Between June 28 and July 9, individuals, families and community groups can sign up online to get a free art kit for the Community Art Mosaic Project. The art kit contains one mosaic tile, paint supplies and instructions.

Registration opens on Monday, June 28. Families can complete one registration form for the entire household. There is a limit of one tile per resident.

Please review the Eligibility Criteria and Art Guidelines before beginning your tile project.

Everyone is welcome to join in on the fun. No art experience is needed. Orangeville residents are encouraged to have their design fit the character of Orangeville – nature, local history, local attractions, and celebration of the arts.
How big will the completed mural be?
The completed mural will be 8' x 12' and will be installed at Town Hall.
Can I select the colours for my tile?
No. Each art kit contains a colour scheme for that particular tile.
Are there any rules that I need to follow?
Yes. Please review the Eligibility Criteria and Art Guidelines prior to beginning your tile project. The Town of Orangeville reserves the right to reject pieces.
When will the mosaic be completed?
Following the completion of our community tiles, all materials are sent back to Edmonton to be assembled. We anticipate to reveal the completed project in the Fall of 2021.
What if I make a mistake on my tile?
Please take some time to plan your design before getting started. It is recommended to complete a draft design first, on a piece of paper or canvas. All designs will be subjected to Town of Orangeville review and approval. The Town reserves the right to reject any submissions.
