Sandy Brown, Mayor
Sandy Brown was elected as Mayor in October, 2018.
Mayor Sandy Brown has been a resident of Orangeville for 27 years. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto. Mayor Brown is a father of two sons, raised his family here and has been involved in our community for over 20 years. His involvement includes roles as past president and current member of the Orangeville Lions Club, past president of the Orangeville Minor Hockey Association, past chair of the Volunteer Advisory Committee of the CNIB Lake Joseph Camp, past member of the Town of Orangeville Committee of Adjustment, past committee member of Visions Support Group for the Visually Impaired, current member of Friends of Island Lake, supporter of the Orangeville Food Bank and Family Transition Place. Mayor Brown’s philosophy is put in more than you take out.
Mayor Brown has over 40 years of experience in manufacturing, general management and sales and marketing management. He is a semi-retired realtor with RE/MAX – and owns and is developing residential rental properties. He is also developing a self storage facility in the Orangeville area with partners. Mayor Brown is a sports enthusiast and enjoys hockey, cycling and hiking in his spare time.
Mayor Brown brings to the Office of the Mayor integrity, honesty, collaboration, transparency and especially respect for the hard earned dollar of the taxpayer. He looks forward to working collaboratively with Town Staff, Town Council and County Council to facilitate positive changes to make the lives of the citizens of Orangeville and Dufferin County better.
