Grant Peters, Councillor
Grant Peters was elected to Orangeville Council in October of 2018.
Councillor Peters is a father of two, business owner, engineer, and volunteer. He has been involved in the community ever since he and his family put down roots in Orangeville in 2010. His local efforts include Orangeville Sustainability Action Team (active transportation, waste, and policy subcommittees), Credit Valley Conservation events, Official Plan Steering Committee, and volunteering with the Orangeville Library, Orangeville GoGo grannies, Orangeville Minor Baseball, and the Lord Dufferin Centre.
In addition to serving as an elected official, Councillor Peters is a partner and licensed professional engineer at a local consulting firm (Fluent Group), acting as Manager of Green Building Services. Councillor Peters serves on several industry boards/committees and has presented at national conferences on the topic of sustainability and green buildings. He also delivers an annual workshop to Masters students at the University of Western Ontario.
In 2018, Councillor Peters was nominated for a Friends of the Credit Conservation Award for Outstanding Volunteer. This nomination came as a result of significant community involvement, including OSAT and CVC initiatives.
Councillor Peters enjoys reading, cycling, and staying active through local recreational activities and sports groups.
