Headwaters Health Care Centre has a simple - but powerful - vision: patient-centred, compassionate care in the face of change. It's a vision that puts our patients at the heart of what we do and builds on our strong tradition of caring. At the core of our mission is our dedication to improving the quality of life for our community by offering access locally to health care services in a caring, welcoming and professional way.

Headwaters Health Care Centre has provided excellent, compassionate health care for over 90 years and has become a leader in community health care. Today, from two facilities (Orangeville and Shelburne sites), we serve a community of more than 100,000 full-time and 10,000 part-time residents.

Created by the merger of the Shelburne District and Dufferin Area hospitals in 1993, Headwaters was the first-ever voluntary hospital merger in Ontario. Headwaters Orangeville is a  108-bed acute care facility. Inpatient services at Headwaters Orangeville include diagnostic imaging, general surgery, internal medicine, palliative care, obstetrics and paediatrics. Outpatient services include clinics for breast feeding, cardiac wellness, cardiac diagnostics, chemotherapy, diabetes education, dialysis, oncology, rehabilitation and respiratory therapy. Headwaters Emergency Department offers 24/7 coverage.

Headwaters Shelburne is a 33-bed complex continuing care hospital. This site offers inpatient services in slow stream rehabilitation, functional evaluation/medical assessment, palliative care, respite and complex continuing care. Outpatient services include diabetes education, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, physiotherapy and speech-language pathology.
