Family activities, SuperDogs shows, and fireworks highlight Canada Day celebrations
Orangeville will celebrate Canada 150 on July 1, 2017 with a special “CanaDogs” show by the President’s Choice® SuperDogs, family activities at the Alder Recreation Centre, and fireworks over Island Lake.
Events at the Alder Recreation Centre run from 12-5 p.m., kicking off with an opening ceremony and cake cutting at noon. Free family swims, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Orangeville Highlands, will be offered from 1-2 p.m. and 3-4 p.m. There will be face painting and inflatable activities (Rock Climb Extreme, Four Shot Basketball, Tiger Belly Bouncer, and Adrenaline Rush), and of course, the SuperDogs.
Watch the President’s Choice® SuperDogs dance to great Canadian hits, compete in a race for the honour of their favourite NHL teams, and present some Canadian Heritage Minutes in which they star. The President’s Choice® SuperDogs will be sure to entertain the Canada Day crowds in red rink at the Alder Street Recreation Centre, with three 30-minute shows starting at 12:30, 2 and 3:30 p.m., followed by a “Pat n Chat”. Seating is limited to arena capacity.
