Town Hall display celebrates 2017 Heritage Week

Feb 14, 2017 | Arts and Culture News | General

Mayor Jeremy D Williams has proclaimed February 20-26, 2017 as Heritage Week in Orangeville. The 2017 theme is “My Canada”, to recognize and celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary of Confederation and the rich legacy of the pioneers who helped shape our own community.

During Heritage Week 2017, communities across Canada are encouraged to participate in the celebrations, and to reflect on the rich and diverse history of our great country.

Heritage Orangeville has set up a display that can be viewed during regular business hours in the atrium of the Town Hall throughout Heritage Week. For further information about Heritage Orangeville please contact Committee Administrator Lorena Hurtubise at 519-941-0440 Ext. 2256 or email [email protected].

Heritage Week provides a unique opportunity for the people of Ontario to recognize our province’s history, cultural structures, natural landscape and familiar sites, and all the aspects that make up our rich heritage. Heritage Week also provides an opportunity to recognize the work of heritage organizations and volunteers.
